  Overall Modell's seems to have a smaller selection than places like Dick's Sporting Goods or Sports Authority (when they were around). That being said most of what Modell's offers is reasonably priced if not cheap, and good quality brands (though less selection of big name brands). The employees will help you if you ask, but mostly go about their business. Overall I try to find what i need here before going elsewhere.
